On Thursday we had our 36 week ultrasound to measure growth of little miss. The ultrasound showed that she was weighing in at approximately 8 pounds!! The ultrasound tech and doctor assured us that the ultrasound weight is not always accurate and that it can be + or - 1 pound... which still means at 36 weeks, she is weighing in at 7-9 pounds! All of her measurements were good and she is even practicing breathing already. The ultrasound tech let us know that once babies start breathing practices, they are ready to come anytime! All of this information was very exciting! We could be parents sooner rather than later!
Just like our last ultrasound (20 weeks), little miss hid her face from us. We told the ultrasound tech that we really wanted a view of her face this time, so he spent a bit of time trying to get a shot for us. He was only able to get a chin view of her nose and mouth.

While the ultrasound tech was looking for her face, we got a clear view of her mouth, and then her tongue sticking out at us. We clearly have a little brat! Just like her mom :) I've already trained her well! So all we have a mediocre profile view of her face from our 20 week ultrasound. We will patiently wait to see her face for the first time when she is born (hopefully that is soon)!!
After our ultrasound we had an appointment with our doctor. She said I'm already 1.5 - 2cm dilated and 25% effaced. That doesn't mean a whole lot right now, but our next appointment will tell us more. Here I am at 36 weeks pregnant!
Oliver and Duncan are always right at my feet. If you look closely, Duncan's big brown nose is at the bottom of the picture. They definitely know that little miss is growing in my belly, and that she will be here very soon!
Our next appointment is on Tuesday... until then, we will be scrambling to get everything ready just in case she comes early! Including our hospital bag, finishing the bookshelf, putting the car seat in the 4runner, and completing our doula homework :)
